Voice Lessons are for ages 8 and up
Our voice teachers primarily focus on classical music however they do teach music from other genres. Our entire vocal faculty holds either a bachelor, masters’ or doctorate degree in music with a concentration on voice. Strong emphasis is place on vocal techniques such as breath control, diction and tone production. In addition to weekly lessons, when applicable students participate in studio forum classes where they have an opportunity to sing in front of their peers, recitals, Huntsville Study Music Club Junior Festival of the National Federation of Music Clubs, District and State Choral Festivals and other various adjudications, competitions and festivals. Our voice instructors are also performers and have sung on an array of venues including the Valley Conservatory Lyceum Series and various operas and music theatre productions including the Magic Flute, Hansel and Gretel and Hello Dolly.

Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT DO YOU LEARN IN YOUR VOICE LESSONS?
That question is often asked by prospective students.  Our voice teachers make it a priority to get to know you on a personal level and to become familiar with your personal musical needs and goals.

We do not treat every student the same in terms of what and how we teach.

A seven year old having their first guitar lesson will have very different needs than a fifty seven year old taking up piano for the 2nd time after having had lessons as a child.

The main reason to choose the Valley Conservatory as your Music Service Center is that we are sensitive to the fact that every student is an individual.

If you enroll here for voice lessons, we will work with you to make a plan that will fit your needs and musical preferences.  At the first lesson your teacher will ask you about your favorite type of music, and set goals to help accomplish whatever musical aspirations you have for yourself or your child.

WHAT STYLES OF MUSIC DO YOU TEACH?
We are an academic studio with a concentration on classical music.  However, we do teach all genres of music including jazz, rock and popular.

ARE YOUR INSTRUCTORS QUALIFIED?
The reputation of any teaching institution rests on the caliber of its faculty. Valley Conservatory faculty are graduates of some of the best music conservatories and universities in the country. Our teachers have received their education from prestigious institutions such as The Julliard School, Peabody Conservatory of Music, Michigan State University, Manhattan School of Music , University of Northern Colorado, University of Alabama, Catholic University of America, Auburn University , University of Alabama, Huntsville, Bob Jones University, Clark  Atlanta University, VanderCook College of Music, University of North Alabama, Samford University, Oakwood University and Tbilisi State Conservatory ( located in Tbilisi, Georgia,  former republic of the Soviet Union). In addition, several of our faculty hold master and doctorate degrees with all of our instructors holding either a bachelor’s degree and/or performance equivalent in their instrument.
