Our brass instructors focus on embouchure, breath control, tone production, and basic music fundamentals with their students. All of our brass instructors either hold bachelor, masters or doctorate degrees in music and/or performance equivalent in their instrument. In addition to weekly lessons, students participate when applicable in recitals, District Solo and Ensemble Competitions, District and State Band Festivals, Huntsville Study Music Club Junior Festival of the National Federation of Music Clubs and various other adjudications, competitions and festivals. Our brass teachers are excellent music educators and have performed with the Valley Conservatory Symphony and Chamber Orchestra, Huntsville Symphony Orchestra, and Shoals Symphony, in addition to various national ensembles including the United States Air Force Band, Washington D.C.

WHAT DO YOU LEARN IN YOUR BRASS LESSONS?
That question is often asked by prospective students. Our brass teachers make it a priority to get to know you on a personal level and to become familiar with your personal musical needs and goals.
We do not treat every student the same in terms of what and how we teach.
A seven year old having their first trumpet lesson will have very different needs than a fifty seven year old taking up piano for the 2nd time after having had lessons as a child.
The main reason to choose the Valley Conservatory as your Music Service Center is that we are sensitive to the fact that every student is an individual.
When you enroll here for brass lessons, we will work with you to make a plan that will fit your needs and musical preferences. At the first lesson your teacher will ask you about your favorite type of music, and set goals to help accomplish whatever musical aspirations you have for yourself or your child.
WHAT STYLES OF MUSIC DO YOU TEACH?
We are an academic studio with a concentration on classical music. However, we do teach all genres of music including jazz, rock and popular.
ARE YOUR INSTRUCTORS QUALIFIED?
The reputation of any teaching institution rests on the caliber of its faculty. Valley Conservatory faculty are graduates of some of the best music conservatories and universities in the country. Our teachers have received their education from prestigious institutions such as The Julliard School, Peabody Conservatory of Music, Michigan State University, Manhattan School of Music , University of Northern Colorado, University of Alabama, Catholic University of America, Auburn University , University of Alabama, Huntsville, Bob Jones University, Clark Atlanta University, VanderCook College of Music, University of North Alabama, Samford University, Oakwood University and Tbilisi State Conservatory ( located in Tbilisi, Georgia, former republic of the Soviet Union).
