Community Outreach

Valley Conservatory Lyceum Series

The Valley Conservatory Lyceum Series (VCLS) was started in 1999 to provide an avenue for artists to perform in conjunction to providing cultural enrichment to the community.  The concerts are varied with programming ranging from symphonic music to jazz.  The lyceum series provides opportunity for students to perform and interact with professional artists in both formal and informal settings.  The VCLS also provides master classes and programs for schools as part of its community outreach.
Organizations and/or individuals interested in hosting a lyceum event should contact Valley Conservatory at 256-534-3131 or email at [email protected].

Valley Conservatory Jam Session

The Valley Conservatory Jam Sessions are monthly events held every 4th Sunday at the VC studio located at 5650 Sanderson St. Ste. B from 5:00pm – 8:00p.m.  The community is invited to bring their instruments to “jam” or just listen to great music.  Students are also encouraged to participate as a way of providing an educational opportunity to learn to play jazz with some of the best jazz artists in the Tennessee Valley!  In addition, we also host “jam sessions” of other genres including blues, bluegrass and more. The cover charge for the public is $5.00 and is paid at the door.  There is no charge for Valley Conservatory students.  Additional information regarding the jam session is available at 256-534-3131 or email at [email protected].
