Valley Conservatory will be performing for the Annual Huntsville Symphony (HSO) Young People’s Concert Series Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 9:00-9:15 a.m. & 11:30-11:45 a.m. The concert will take place at the VBC. We will have a rehearsal at our Hampton Cove location on Sunday, February 19 from 2:00 p.m. – 3:15 pm. The beginning and intermediate/advanced orchestras will all rehearse together at the Hampton Cove studio. The beginning orchestra will finish at 2:30 and will be allowed to leave when they are finished. String students should enter the ramp door on the side of the building next to the building where they are doing construction. There will be signs to direct you.
There will be a dress rehearsal the day of the concert at the Von Braun Center (VBC) from 8:30 am – 9:00 am. before the concert begins on Thursday, February 23.
This is the third time students from the Valley Conservatory have had this honor and opportunity of opening for the HSO. We will provide snacks at the concert for the students.
Music has already been given to your child. Parents will need to transport their child to the VBC. Directions pertaining to parking will be forthcoming. The student performances are at 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
Attached is a letter the Symphony is providing to excuse your child for this performance. If you have questions, contact Dr. Collins at 256-653-8901.

- Thursday, February 22, 2023 Performance at VBC Concert Hall
- 8:30 am – 9:00 am On Stage Warm-up/Dress Rehearsal
- 9:00 am – 9:15 am Perform Pre-concert #1
- 9:30 am – 10:30 am Attend HSO concert
- 10:30 am -11:15 am Snack time/social time in the Green Room
- 11:15 am-11:30 am Warmup #2
- 11:30 am – 11:45 am Perform 2nd Pre-concert
- 11:45 am Depart with parents
