|Ryan Devon Lang, M.D. is a Huntsville, Alabama native and a 2005 graduate of Oakwood Adventist Academy. He was a featured tenor soloist with the OAA Choir, and he later joined the Aeolians of Oakwood University as an undergraduate student. In 2012, he was one of four Aeolian alumni invited to perform with the Aeolians at the bi-annual World Choir Games in Cincinnati, OH.
He earned a Bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Oakwood University summa cum laude in 2009 and a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee in 2013. He is now a third-year internal medicine and urban health resident at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. At the completion of his internal medicine residency in June 2016, he will pursue an additional residency in preventive medicine and public health including a Master of Public Health degree with the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He plans to practice general internal medicine and preventive medicine with a focus on creating community-based health interventions to promote health among urban, underserved populations. He is also an aspiring health journalist and has contributed to several media outlets including the Huntsville Times, Hopkins Medicine Magazine, The Dr. Oz Show, and ABC News.
