James Williams III


williams_james184 James Williams III is making his Seven Last Words of Christ  debut this evening with Oakwood Academy Choir, Valley Conservatory, OAA alum and other featured guests. An OAA alum himself, he graduated from the high-school in 2011 after years of service and involvement in various clubs, including the choir, the science club, the orchestra ensemble, the Millennium Nursing Home scholarship initiative, and various other groups. During his senior year at OAA, he was the student association president and graduated with honors. Currently a senior vocal performance and pedagogy major at Oakwood University, Mr. Williams has performed in chorus of Handel’s Messiah, Leslie Adam’s Blake, Verdi’s Requiem, as “Sarastro” from Die Zauberflöte,"Colas" from Bastien und Bastienne, and most recently as "Bartolo" from Le Nozze di Figaro, with New York Lyric Opera Theatre at the Lincoln Center and at the Carnegie Hall. He is a chorus member and soloist for First Presbyterian Church’s Chancel Choir of Huntsville, Alabama where he resides. Mr. Williams is also a proud, traveling member of Oakwood University's world renown concert choir - The Aeolians. He will complete his bachelor's in music this May. Currently offering voice lessons and vocal coaching he believes that everyone has a voice and deserves to be heard. Mr. Williams is a proud student of Dr. Julie Moore Foster, and plans to pursue a full time career as an opera singer after receiving a masters degree in vocal performance.
