Shonda Carrise Devine is a soprano with a promising future in view. A native of Queens, New York, she began her performance career at the tender age of three years old. She has participated in the University of Miami Frost School of Music "Summer in Salzburg" opera training program in Salzburg, Austria. Shonda has also performed the roles of The Rose and The Water in The Little Prince, and Micaela in Carmen with the Ars Nova Conservatory in Huntsville, Alabama.

She has participated and triumphed in many vocal competitions including a First and Second place standing in the Alabama State and Regional National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) vocal competitions respectively. During the summer of and 2008, she participated in the American Singers Opera Project (A.S.O.P) where she sang the role of Countess Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro and Roselinde in scenes from Die Fledermaus.

Shonda has recently completed her studies in Music Education, concentration vocal performance at Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, AL. Shonda is a frequent soloist in the Huntsville and Birmingham areas and with the Alabama A&M University Concert Choir. She is a music instructor at Valley Conservatory where she teaches private voice, Youth Singing Studio and general music and choir at Oakwood elementary and middle school. Ms. Devine is also the director of music at Valley United Methodist Church. Shonda studies voice with Dr. Ginger Beazley.
