Jam Shop
Jam with Contemporary Acoustic Guitar Specialist Roosevelt “Ruel” Rayford while covering all aspects of contemporary music as it relates to today’s integrated and elevated sounds. Includes a touch of related interactive theory (i.e.: scale system connection, chord configuration) and composing a new tune.
Requires: Intermediate or above level of familiarity with guitar playing and some understanding of basic theory.

Basic Music Theory Concepts
A ‘survival course’ for students considering majoring in music and/or wishing to improve performance through better understanding of the music. The number one reason for students dropping a music major is inadequate theory preparation. There are no ‘magic theory pills’, but a toolkit of basic concepts and tools helps.

Introduction to Concert Percussion Accessories
From triangle to tam-tam, percussionists need to know how to use many variety instruments. Get a hands-on intro to the most common and some not-so common items in the percussion tool kit.

Most workshops have maximum class sizes; students will be accepted in the order paid registrations are received. All Workshops meet at Valley Conservatory Studios, 1025 Claude Circle, Huntsville unless otherwise indicated. Details subject to change if necessary.
